Description :	Très belle chaire avec piédestal de plan carré surmonté d'un socle en forme de bénitier d'ouverture hexagonale, aux côtés irréguliers. Il supporte une cuve.

Historique :	L'église de Savonnières a une tour romane augmentée d'une travée au 15e siècle. D'après le cartulaire de l'abbaye de Jovilliers, l'église a été incendiée en partie au 17e siècle et des réparations importantes ont été effectuées en 1673 et 1720. Les graffitis se trouvant dans la montée d'escalier à gauche portent des dates dont 1705 et peut être une date du 17e siècle. Il est possible que la chaire ait été construite lors des réparations de l'église. C'est une des rares chaires en pierre conservée en Meuse.
