Historique :	Il s'agit de la plus ancienne inscription funéraire connue en Lorraine (L'église Saint-Victor conserve une autre plaque du XIIIe s. datant de 1288, toutes deux antérieures d'une autre plaque de la fin du XIIIe s. à Etain (1296) ).

Précision sur l'inscription :	Transcription : Ci gît Richard Litouffe qui mourut l'an que le milliaire courait (=l'an dont le millésime était) 1275, le samedi avant le fête de tous les saints. Priez Dieu pour lui, qu'il lui pardonne ses péchés et le veuille recevoir en sa compagnie par sa miséricorde. Amen. Ici on ne peut mettre un autre corps si on défait toute la sépulture (= au risque de défaire).
