Historique :	Il s'agit de l'unique statue subsistante du culte de saint Clair avant la Révolution. La tradition locale fait de saint Boniface et de saint Clair des disciples de saint Saintin, premier évêque de Verdun. Le lieu de leur matyre serait l'endroit où les corps saints furent trouvés, entre Liny et Fontaines.
