Historique :	Antoine de Failly, écuyer, est décédé en 1588. Il était le fils de Ferry de Failly, prévôt de Marville pour la part de Bar et de Claude des Armoises, dame en partie d'Epiez et de Villécloye (mariage du 10 mai 1549) et petit-fils de Thomas de Failly, également prévôt de Marville et de Catherine du Ménil dit Nancy. D'après la tradition, ces derniers sont représentés à l'intérieur des médaillons décorant la façade de la chapelle Sainte-Croix. Thomas était, en effet, l'un des exécuteurs testamentaires d'Arnould Goujet, curé de Petit-Failly, le fondateur de cette chapelle. Antoine de Failly était demeuré célibataire.
