Traduction : Gilles qui repose en ce lieu, s'est toujours illustré durant le cours de sa vie. Jeune homme plein de savoir il enseigne avec éclat. Dans la suite il dirige avec piété les âmes à lui confiées. Pendant qu'il songe à s'élever plus haut, il se dévoue au culte de la Vierge bénie, à qui, au jour de sa nativité, il a dédié cet autel sur lequel le Saint Sacrifice sera offert à perpétuité.
