Historique :	Statue datée vers 1776. Un monument avec la statue avait été érigé en juin 1776 sur la place Couchot aux frais d'habitants du quartier. A la demande des habitants, ce monument tombant en ruines fut restauré sans les premiers mois de 1848 aux frais de M. Paulin Gillon (1796 – 1878, né à Nubécourt, maire de Bar-le-Duc, député de la Meuse) et béni solennellement le 14 mai 1848 par l'abbé Barry, archiprêtre de l'église Notre-Dame. Dans les années 1980, il fut transféré près de l'église Notre-Dame.
